The indicating silica gel is a lustrous royal blue color when it is fresh. As it absorbs water, the color changes to light blue, then pink, and then almost colorless. This color progression provides a relative indication of the degree of saturation of the silica gel. The product is reusable and will change back to a deep blue color when reactivated at 125° to 160° C. These products are actually bulk, not packaged, desiccants. The steel can has a friction fit lid for a highly effective moisture barrier, ensuring that the desiccant remains active until you are ready to use it.
