Description:
Kimble KIMAX 15124-100 Stoddard Solvent bottle used in the determination of the amount of Stoddard Solvent absorption in sulfuric acid (dry cleaning industry). Also used in the determination of total olefinic and aromatic hydrocarbons in gasolines, naphthas, kerosenes and other petroleum distillates. The 10mL capacity in the neck is graduated 0-100%. Graduated with a durable white scale. Body of the bottle (approximately 45 mL capacity) is a "reaction vessel" whereby an accurately measured sample is pipetted into the bottle; excess reagent is added and after the reaction is complete, more reagent is added to raise the "fat column" into the calibrated neck of the bottle where results are read directly as a percentage of fat in the sample.
