Eppendorf® HeatSealer S100 offers high-performance sealing options for almost every application. For incubation and storage, for colorimetric ELISA as well as fluorescence and luminescence assays, sample processing and cell culture as well as PCR and qPCR amplification. Heat sealing is the preferred method for obtaining a 100% hermetic seal. The Heat Sealer's preset heating temperature enables ideal heat sealing, especially when used with the Eppendorf Heat Sealing Foils or Films. A strategically positioned heating plate, an integrated thermostat, and compliance with all laboratory safety guidelines ensures safety. The Eppendorf Heat Sealer prevents any evaporation problems that can occur in microplates during PCR. Samples are recovered by either piercing through the seals or by removing the seal with the Foil Stripper. Sample storage and transport in plates (even with different heights) is now safe and easy.
Masterclear™ is an optically clear film for all optical assays in the UV and VIS light range. The specially selected adhesive does not interfere with assay results. PCR Film and Foil with heat-activated glue ahs a lower adhesive strength at room temperature for easy positioning and increased strength at PCR-characteristic temperatures to maximize evaporation protection. Aluminum foil provide slightly better evaporation protection than plastic films - especially during long-term storage. It is easily pierceable with single or multichannel pipettors. Aluminum foil provides protection for light sensitive samples. Transparent films allow you to see the samples based on the film type and the adhesive is suitable for fluorescence and luminescence assays. Since films are usually non-pierceable they provide better protection from accidental piercing.
