Roby™ 25 syringe filters for robotic systems were developed specifically for automated sample filtration systems. Whatman offers Roby syringe filters with various membranes. For difficult-to-filter samples, Roby syringe filters are also available with membranes plus an integral glass fiber prefilter. The filter housing is made from mechanically stable polypropylene. The external geometry of the filter housing ensures simple and smooth filter transport from the storage turntable to the filtration site and easy filter changing.

Puradisc FP-30 30mm syringe filters are designed for the quick and efficient filtration of aqueous solutions. The syringe filters are produced from pigment free polypropylene and have standard inlet and outlet Luer connectors. Devices are available with a choice of membrane or glass microfiber filter media for wide sample compatibility. The media are sealed into the unit without the use of adhesives to eliminate potential sample contamination. Cellulose acetate (CA) membranes have an extremely low binding capacity for proteins.

The Puradisc GW 30mm syringe filter is specifically designed for filtration in trace analysis. It is an aqueous syringe filter with low background values for the determination of COD, TOC, and DOC. Autovial™ devices are comprised of two parts: a graduated filter barrel and a plunger. The proven design features an integral filter, built-in air purge and a support stand that protects the recessed slip-luer tip. The Autovial™ filter is selected according to membrane compatibility with the sample. In practice, the sample is poured into the 12mL capacity filter barrel.

The VACU-GUARD line of filter devices combine the best of three classic chemical traps with proven vacuum protective (hydrophobic) PTFE membrane. The PTFE membrane is built into a pleated cartridge and is permanently fuse bonded inside the base of the capsule. These types of chemical traps have been recommended by Menniger and Vilardi for protection of vacuum pumps and the environment, from their exhaust, when used to "polish" incoming air from an evaporation system. The activated carbon traps are recommended for organic vapors.

The Aqueous IFD and Solvent IFD microfiltration devices are in-line filter/degassers. As the name implies, the Aqueous IFD provides pure filtration of aqueous based HPLC mobile phases while the Solvent IFD is used with organically based HPLC mobile phases. Specifically, the Aqueous IFD is designed to work with mobile phases containing at least 20% of the aqueous component. The filter media used in this filter is nylon; for the Solvent IFD it is polypropylene. The devices employ a polypropylene housing, the circumference of which is sealed by a security ring.
